The cut-tree of large recursive trees

Imagine a graph which is progressively destroyed by cutting its edges one after the other in a uniform random order. The so-called cut-tree records key steps of this destruction process. It can be viewed as a random metric space equipped with a natural probability mass. In this work, we show that the cut-tree of a random recursive tree of size n, rescaled by the factor n−1 lnn, converges in pro...

Branches in random recursive k-ary trees

In this paper, using generalized {polya} urn models we find the expected value of the size of a branch in recursive $k$-ary trees. We also find the expectation of the number of nodes of a given outdegree in a branch of such trees.

Exit times for an increasing Lévy tree-valued process

We give an explicit construction of the increasing tree-valued process introduced by Abraham and Delmas using a random point process of trees and a grafting procedure. This random point process will be used in companion papers to study record processes on Lévy trees. We use the Poissonian structure of the jumps of the increasing tree-valued process to describe its behavior at the first time the...

A Necessary and Sufficient Condition for the Tail-Triviality of a Recursive Tree Process

Given a recursive distributional equation (RDE) and a solution μ of it, we consider the tree indexed invariant process called the recursive tree process (RTP) with marginal μ. We introduce a new type of bivariate uniqueness property which is different from the one defined by Aldous and Bandyopadhyay [5], and we prove that this property is equivalent to tail-triviality for the RTP. Thus obtainin...

The eccentric connectivity index of bucket recursive trees

If $G$ is a connected graph with vertex set $V$, then the eccentric connectivity index of $G$, $xi^c(G)$, is defined as $sum_{vin V(G)}deg(v)ecc(v)$ where $deg(v)$ is the degree of a vertex $v$ and $ecc(v)$ is its eccentricity. In this paper we show some convergence in probability and an asymptotic normality based on this index in random bucket recursive trees.
